Hi All

I have set up a SharePoint site with an alternate access method to allow it to be access via an Load balancer URL (http://Loadbalance.site.com). When I access the site via the Load balancer URL, the default page (default.aspx) won't load. I get prompted for authentication, before a blank page is loaded. If I browse directly to http://Loadbalance.site.com/default.aspx
I can authenticate and view the site without problems.

For Example
Load balancer: If I use the direct link http://servername:1007 its automatically resolving to http:// servername:1007/default.aspx and working fine. But when I use http://Loadbalance.site.com its not resolving to http:// Loadbalance.site /default.aspx. This is resulting in file/resource not found error. It’s happening for other links also( http://Loadbalance.site.com /Clely/BC/

I have done the Alternate Access Entries in SharePoint are as follows:

Internal URL -- Zone -- Public URL for Zone
http://servername:1007 -- Default -- http://servername:1007
http://Loadbalance.site.com -- Internet -- http://Loadbalance.site.com

Please let me know, If anyone addressed the issue before.

Hi,

After I have changed the url using AAM, everything was fine and working. But when I did a search it breaks. The search was fine before AAM.

Have I skipped any steps? What do I need to do to make the search work again?

Sincerely,

Datta

Henry,

In case no load balancer & reverse proxy in front of servers then do we need to add Internal name (CA server) in AAM for the Portal URL?

One of my prod environment having : server - 1(CA), Server-2(Web front end), No load balancer and No reverse proxy..

I updated AAM mappings as below...

PortalURL Default PortalURL
Server1(CA) Default PortalURL
Server2(WFE) Default PortalURL

As there are some performance issues while process 360 web parts confgured..Could you please assist?
